Ocado has launched its first virtual farmshop
with Daylesford (www.ocado.com/daylesford
). The Ocado virtual farmshop is Daylesford’s fourth store, following the original shops in Gloucestershire and two in London. Daylesford's organic produce from its farm in Gloucestershire can now be delivered to 70 % of UK households. There are over 130 products online to shop from, and customers are also able to explore Daylesford’s farm and learn more about how its products are made, and find many traditional recipes.
Daylesford opened its doors in 2003 with its homemade Cheddar. Today, a wide variety of products
is offered. More than ten cheeses are available, including Single and Double Gloucester, soft aromatic Baywell, as well as goat cheeses. Fresh milk is offered from its British Friesian herd. Customers can browse the virtual farmshop to find full-flavoured chicken to roast, Aberdeen Angus steaks, as well as lamb chops.
Daylesford meat is also used in their home-cooked real meals. From the farm bakery, customers can try Daylesford’s renowned fruit bread and pumpernickel. A wide range of larder essentials is also available.
Daylesford has been farmed organically for over 25 years. In the last three years, Daylesford has won over 60 national and international awards
from all areas of the farm. These include the Soil Association Awards, British Cheese Awards, World Cheese Awards, Great Taste Awards and Farma.
Ocado was established in 2000, started trading in 2002 and is now one of Britain’s leading online supermarkets. Last October it was named World E-tailer of the Year at the prestigious World Retail Awards and, this summer, the company won Consumer Initiative of the Year at the Grocer Gold Awards for its popular mobile commerce platform.
