IFOAM begins partnership with the City of Bonn

On 10 February 2012, Andre Leu, President of IFOAM, and the Mayor of Bonn, Jürgen Nimptsch started a virtual global journey just outside of IFOAM's head-office by releasing a sky lantern with an attached message to the Rio+20 Earth Summit, IFOAM reports. From Bonn, it will travel to forty different locations across the world - symbolizing IFOAM's forty years of existence and the rich diversity of the organic world - to collect the testimonies and messages of those who, in a number of different ways, pursue their livelihoods sustainably.
