Organix, well-known for making additive-free baby food, is taken over by the Swiss company Hero Group. According to The Daily Telegraph, the Hero Group, which is owned by the Oetker family, has bought Organix from its founders.

Organix was founded in 1992 by Lizzie Vann, who has campaigned to have certain additives banned from children's foods, and her business partner. They aimed at raising the quality of children's food and the company has grown dramatically, since the public has become more aware of the benefits of organic foods.

This year, Organix is expected to make more than £ 2m profit on a turnover of over £ 25 million. The deal is likely to bring the owners a multimillion cash windfall. Hero Group, known for jams, soft drinks, ready meals, baby foods, pasta and baking aids, is majority-owned by Dr Oetker.
