Spain: BioCultura awards

The ceremony for the 2009 BioCultura Awards took place in the courtroom at Gaudí del Palau Sant Jordi as an encouragement to continue working in favour of organic production. The awards included BioCultura 2009 Press Award, Television Award (picture: The team of 
El escarabajo verde - "Green beetle" of TVE) and awards for the best Radio Program and Internet Site. The award for the best organic store is being handed out every year for a store which stands out for novelties or modernity. This year, the jury decided to give it to Biospace, an organic supermarket in the center of Barcelona, which is a leader in fresh produce. The award for the Best Organic Product was handed out for the goat cheese from a local producer of Cartagena-Murcia, Caprilac-Moho.
 

During the fair, technical seminars on organic school gardens also took place. These have attracted 200 teachers from schools in Catalonia. This great success is undoubtedly a manifestation of the growth of interest in agriculture and food diversity, which is respectful to human health and the environment.
