BioFach China celebrated its fifth anniversary in Shanghai from 26 to 28 May 2011. More than 14,600 visitors, an increase of 27 % on the previous edition, travelled from 33 countries to what was so far the most successful edition of the only trade fair for certified organic products in China. The organizer, NürnbergMesse China, was delighted with the fully booked exhibition space and the increased exhibitor figures: 342 manufacturers (2010: 313), 13 % of them international, presented organic produce at the INTEX Shanghai Exhibition Centre. Around 300 participants made use of the well-balanced congress programme to get information about current subjects, fresh trends and significant facts on the organic market, BioFach China reports.

“As one of the first manufacturers of organic noodles in Italy, the Chinese market is very interesting. We already exhibited at BioFach China for the second time and we are very satisfied. The understanding of organic foodstuff appears to be slowly but noticeably changing in China,” said Gian Luca Bettarelli, General Manager of Montebello, in summing up the fair. German natural personal care product manufacturer Logocos also gave a positive assessment: “The number of visitors at the stand was good, the theme of natural personal care products is attracting ever greater interest and the enquiries made by end customers on the third day of the fair has also noticeably increased,” explains Rongmei Hui, Area Sales Manager.

The two largest Chinese exhibitors also expressed their great satisfaction after the fair: “As one of the very first exhibitors, we experienced BioFach China right from the start and are delighted with the professional development and dramatic growth of the event. We are using what is such an important trade fair for us to enter into a dialogue with other exhibitors: we discuss trends and have an exchange on the new forms of organic farming,” says Li Yongdong, manager at Organic Farm, summing up the event. Zhang Chen, General Manager Assistant, Tony’s Farm, explains: “Here we meet all the potential business partners along with expert visitors. In recent years, the quality of the fair has increased enormously. We will be celebrating our premiere as exhibitors at BioFach Nuremberg as well.” The next edition of BioFach China will be held from 24 to 26 May 2012.
