Natural Products Expo Asia 2011 – a full success

Natural Products Expo Asia closed its most successful show to date on 27 August, 2011, with 8,572 visitors from across 54 countries and regions. Since the inauguration of Natural Products Expo Asia in 2002, this show has been integral in the growth of Asia’s organic and natural products market. The three day trade show in Hong Kong showcased over 5,000 products and supplies ranging from food & beverage, dietary supplements, natural and raw ingredients, cosmetics, healthy aging and other skin care products, spa facilities (picture) and supplies across international pavilions represented by Australia, New Zealand, the USA and Canada. The Japan and UK Pavilions debuted this year and introduced interesting new products.

Exhibiting area of NPEA reached 6,000 square meters, based on support of over 200 exhibiting companies from 16 countries and regions. Two new networking events successfully explored a new realm of Asia’s natural & organic market with the trade show attendees. IFOAM, US Commercial Service from American Consulate General and Nutrition Business Journal presented the forecast for the global organic and nutrition market at the Opening VIP Breakfast. The Welcome Reception offered a special time for exhibitors and buyers to mingle and connect in a relaxing atmosphere.

Running in conjunction with NPEA, the Nutracon Asia Conference and the Nutricosmetic Summit Asia (picture) covered key segments from Functional Food & Beverage, Dietary Supplements, Organic Certification and Cosmetic Regulation. This co-location garnered overwhelming feedback from distributors, suppliers and other industry professionals. Fourteen Healthy Kitchen and Open Kitchen sessions attracted thousands of visitors eager to learn the making of healthy recipes. The launch of The Market Quickstart marked a milestone in assisting Asian ingredient suppliers learn about and prepare themselves for the global markets.

International experts shared their experience and answered concern regarding regulations, market trends, opportunities and exporting products and supplies to the USA in an intensive 2-day forum held in both Beijing and Shanghai.
